Snoring is very common problem with millions. Can you imagine a wife filing a divorce for her snoring husband? Yes, its true and snoring a simple problem can create a much bigger issue at times. Do you or any one in your family suffers this sleeping disorder? Though, many people have a wrong notion that snoring is a disease, but the fact is that snoring is just a sleeping disorder. Snoring in a person occurs when the soft palate vibrates. This vibration is caused due to the factors like :- the air passage makes the muscles at the back of the throat if the jaws are kept wide open while sleeping. Again an extra growth of the tissue called uvula, which is a fleshy part that grows between your tonsils. This outgrowth also vibrates during the breathing process of sleeping and thus the snoring does happen. An obstructive sleep and improper posture of lying on the bed also tend to block a part of the air in its passage causing the snoring sound. Even over weight too can be responsible for snoring.

Home remedies for snoring:

* Yoga and other breathing exercise of any kind that relax the passage block. The exercises in yoga and other forms may also demand a bit of movement of mouth bones, cartilages and jaws as well.

* Persons with normal weight have been found with least snoring problem. Since normal weight co-operates well with the body movements and postures. Thus there won't be any interruptions of any kind while you sleep.

* If you smoke, try to avoid it before going to bed at night. At least before two hours you should keep the cigarettes away from you.

* At the same time you should take that you don't drink heavily. Too much alcohol in the blood relaxes the soft tissues and muscles and the tissues near the breathing passage erupts and results in snoring.

* The posture of your sleeping is very important and to avoid snoring lie in a comfortable position.

* A moderate dinner is very essential. Don't overeat. Try to take your dinner before at least one hour you go to bed.
