Get Rid Of Fleas Through Home Remedies

Home remedies for fleas are activities carried out to make your pet free from the troublesome itching and to make you home safe from different diseases. The home remedies for fleas include bathing, powdering, and use of herbs from nature, to keep an anti flea zone.

There are a number of home remedies for fleas which kill them and prevent them from sticking to your pet's skin. Disinfecting your home doesn't allow the fleas to find a suitable environment for their existence. The establishment of your pet is the most suitable environment for them hence wash its bedding at regular intervals adding eucalyptus oil while you rinse. This oil is very effective in killing the house dust mites too. Use a vacuum cleaner for upholstery and carpets and use some sprinkle powders to avoid these unwelcome guests.

Some home remedies for fleas are basically herbal medicines:

1. Citrus repellent for fleas: An effective flea repellent can be made from lemon. Immerse it by cutting it in boiling water. Steep it overnight to get the repellent. Spray the repellent all over the body of your pet, and get rid of fleas.

2. Aromatherapy repellent: Lavender and cedar wood oils are added to almond carrier oil for making the repellent. This mixture is shaken well before spreading it over the pet's skin.

3. Oil bath: Prepare a bath with a few drops of tea tree or lavender essential oils in the water. Even fresh rosemary leaf soaked in water is effective.

4. Internal repellent method: Garlic fed dogs don't attach fleas since the smell of garlic is excreted through the skin which is inhospitable for the fleas.

5. External repellent: Putting cedar chips along the fence keeps the fleas at bay. Planting herbs like tansy, around you also keeps the problem away.

You can also get rid of flea by simply rubbing oil of eucalyptus, citronella, tea tree, geranium or lavender on your dog's skin.
