Native American Herbal Remedies

For several generations, Native Americans have been using Native American herbal remedies to cure various illnesses. Many of the herbs used by native Americans alternative medicines are the many ingredients that are used in various modern medications today and they have been actually derived from Native American cultures.

Native American herbal remedies are being reintroduced through various forms of alternative medicines. Aromatherapy deals with various scents to change the mood of individuals. Aromatherapy is very powerful, according to massage therapists. It has been found that to treat stomach cramps, wounds, sores, tuberculosis, colds and coughs, the Native Americans use wild Cherry- a common ingredient found in cough syrups of Allopathic medicines. Like this, so many ingredients in modern pharmaceuticals contain herbs originated in native American culture.

Both, Native American herbal remedies and the medical society use similar types of medicine, they only use them in contrasting ways. Native healers propose the herbs in the form of food as medicine, herbal teas, and oatmeal.

Thus, the practice of using herbal medicines is more effective than the modern medicines and they are popular among the native Americans also.
